Choose a reference for the task
Use official publications to check the syllabus, licensing rules and background theory. An educational handbook explains principles; it does not replace the current maintenance instructions for an aircraft or component.
FAA maintenance handbooks
The FAA publishes Aviation Maintenance Technician handbooks covering General, Airframe and Powerplant subjects. They are useful for foundational study, including mathematics, materials, electricity, structures and engines. They describe the US framework, so check DGCA or EASA requirements separately when preparing for those examinations.

EASA regulations and licensing
Use the EASA document library for official publications and the Part-66 FAQs for licensing questions. Check the issue date and applicable amendments before using an older saved copy. If a qualification or experience record is unclear, ask the competent authority handling your licence application.

DGCA requirements
For the Indian route, start at the DGCA portal and use the current CAR-66 documents and examination notices. Keep a record of the reference and revision used in your study notes. Requirements for one jurisdiction should not be assumed to apply in another.
Make the material useful
Match a chapter to your current syllabus topic. Read a short section, explain it in your own words and solve a practice problem. Record unclear points for follow-up with an instructor or an official reference. Use current approved data for real maintenance work.
